Julie

With two decades of direct experience and studies in horse-human interaction whilst care giving for horses during rehabilitation I am a woman who cares deeply about reconnecting horses and humans to the hidden aspects of themselves. Creating safe spaces that invite meaningful connections cultivates curiosity, creativity, and playfulness as a container for renewal, growth and transformation.

The private sanctuary for horses was established at Serenity Farm in 2010 offering horses a place for rest and renewal.
After completing training as an Accredited Facilitator of – ADVENTURES IN AWARENESS invitational approach™ (certified in Australia by Groundwork Therapy), I established my EFL practice ‘Horses and You – The Art of Connection in 2019 as a way to offer humans a place of rest and renewal and to learn about themselves by learning about horses.

I advocate for giving horses a voice on a foundation of horse-centered care through understanding that all behaviour represents communication. We hold a space of mutual regard in our relationship with horses as sentient beings with feelings, thoughts, emotions, and memories.

My work is informed by the foundational principles of Woman-Centered Coaching and designed to focus on unlocking higher potentials. While transformational in nature, is not a substitute for psychotherapy, health care, or medical advice.
I am also a HeartMath certified mentor, a HeartMath stress and wellbeing assessment provider and a mixed media artist.

A professional career that spanned four decades as a Quality Assurance Engineer in England and Australia. I have held senior strategic change management positions that encompass Workplace Health & Safety, Industrial Workplace Relations Advisory roles, including the design and development of workforce skills. This background, professional training, and lived experiences led me to work with those wanting to take time away from their everyday thinking to explore ways of reconnecting to themselves by cultivating curiosity, creativity, and playfulness as a container for renewal, growth and transformation.

communication. connection. compassion = ask questions. follow your heart. live your truth.

I wasn’t raised around horses. Mike was caring for horses in need when we met, I have added a few! I’ve been on an evolving journey with horses for almost twenty years. My relationship with horses has been one of growing both ways, learning about them as sentient beings and learning about me. I choose not to ride and to have a relationship on the ground. Being around horses has taught me to ‘dance with life’, the value of freedom through connection and to show up as my authentic self, for them and for me. I’m forever grateful for Mike who introduced me to horses, never gave up on me and always sees me.
