Artist Biography

Julie Grogan experiences the world through the eyes of an explorer learning how to be at one with the divinity within all life. Creative expression has carried her through times of personal turmoil in life and has become her sacred self reflective practice.  After a significant life changing event she became aware of a deeper sense of her own presence and how we live as the creative expression of our choices. Through her art, she has learned that life is constantly speaking to us, inviting us to respond with genuine interest, appreciation, affection, forgiveness, compassion, asking us to create and colour our world through the eyes of the heart. Having lived and worked on both sides of the globe she now lives, works, and walks beside the horses, wildlife, and humans that call Serenity Farm in Yarra Valley Australia their home. Being quite a private artist, she occasionally exhibits and has achieved awards for her textile sculpted figures.

Artist statement

I continue to explore the connectedness, presence, and divine nature of all things. I believe that we are not separate from Nature we are Nature, that we do not walk on the Earth we are the Earth. With my photography and mixed media art imagery, I shift an internal lens of perception, to see beyond what I think I see and share in a silent language that connects with life as an expression of itself in light, shadow, and texture. I am inspired each day to learn about living life with a sense of curious wonder and to experience making art as a universal language of the heart. The act of creating invites me to see the strength fragility and transient beauty of the relationship I create with myself with life and the world around me.
